The final Tamworth summer contra dance of the 2012 season Sept. 1

TAMWORTH — The final Tamworth Summer Contradance of the 2012 season will be this Saturday night, Sept. 1.

Eric Rollnick will provide dance calls and instruction, accompanied by live music in the traditional New England style. If you haven't been dancing at the Town House in Tamworth yet this summer, this is your last opportunity to twirl around the floor and savor a summer evening tradition.

Dancing begins at 8 p.m. and goes until 11 p.m. at the Tamworth Town House on Main Street in Tamworth Village (across from the Tamworth Congregational Church). All dances are taught and beginners and families are most welcome. The Tamworth Outing Club has been sponsoring square and contradances in Tamworth for many years.

The cost is $7 per person; $3 for children 15 and under. Proceeds from the dances benefit the Tamworth Junior Ski and Babe Ruth Baseball programs. For more information call 323-8023.

The next Tamworth Contradance will be on Columbus Day weekend, Oct. 6, and will again feature Eric Rollnick as caller.
