Program on heirloom plants June 19

The Chatham Historical Society will present a program on heirloom plants with Karen Downing, a New Hampshire Master Gardener, at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 19, at the Chatham Town Hall. Downing will share the history of some of these unusual plant varieties and their importance in today's world. And how can we help save these unusual plants? By eating them, saving seeds, and growing more plants. Downing will explain the art of saving seeds, bringing our ancestors' knowledge back to today's gardeners.All are welcome to come and learn at this program. There is no admission charge.
