TUESDAYS

Caregivers of those with Alzheimer's or Related Disorders. A group for caregivers of those with Alzheimer's or related disorders meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month, 1:30-3 p.m., at the Merriman House. The group offers education, support and coping skills for caregivers. Pre-arranged care is available for the family member while the caregiver attends the meeting. Journey of Hope. Journey of Hope meets the first Tuesday of every month, 7-8:30 p.m., in the Sun Room at Memorial Hospital. The group is for those with cancer and their support people. Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings in Carroll County. Every Tuesday, Alcoholics Anonymous meets at the Christ Church Episcopal on Pine Street and Route 16 in North Conway from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.; and at the Gibson Center in North Conway from 8 to 9 p.m.

Alcoholic's Anonymous Women's Step Meeting. An Alcoholic's Anonymous Women's Step Meeting takes place on Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m., at Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 857 Main Street (Route 5), in Fryeburg, Maine.

Al-Anon. Every Tuesday, Fryeburg Al-Anon meets for friends and families of alcoholics, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the American Legion Hall, Bradley Street, Fryeburg. Newcomers welcome.

Walk Through the Grades. Every Tuesday during school, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. there will be a walk through the grades at the White Mountain Waldorf School. This is an opportunity to see how Waldorf education is taught in the elementary and middle school classrooms, by educating the whole child: academically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Spring Story Time for 2 Year Olds.
The Conway Public Library offers summer story time for 2 year olds today at 10:30 a.m. Age appropriate stories, songs and rhymes. Older siblings and guests are always welcome. This is running through May 21. For more information call 447-5552.

Gibson Center Events. A Strength, Balance, & Stretch exercise class, lead by Bobbi Brome meets Tuesday and Friday at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Friday (except in the summer) at the Gibson Center. Blood Pressure Clinics and VNA Foot Checks are offered the second Tuesday of each month, at 11 a.m. at the Gibson Center. Fran's Flicks, movies at the Gibson Center, are shown after lunch the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.

Lunch And Games at Silver Lake Landing. The Gibson Center sponsors lunch at noon every Tuesday at Silver Lake Landing, followed by games or a movie.

Community Steel Band.
The Conway Area Community steel band meets every Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Ajaja Music at 903 West Side Road. New members are always welcome. No prior musical experience is necessary. Faerie House Workshop. Want to have fun this summer making faerie houses? Join Carol Hanson of Carol Hanson Art, Inc., and Michelle Broyer of the Saco River Recreational Council's, Swans Falls Campground for workshops learning how to make faerie houses. The workshops meet each Tuesday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Swans Falls Campground. There is a small fee of $8 per person for each workshop (with some scholarships available) and family rates. These workshops are open to all ages. Families and youths are encouraged to join. Game Day. Ossipee Concerned Citizens and Ossipee Recreation holds game day each Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Ossipee Concerned Citizens building at 3 Dore Street in Center Ossipee for a great time of fun, games, and socializing. The Conway Peer Support Center holds a WRAP(Wellness Recovery Action Plan) and IPS (Intentional Peer Support) Group meeting on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. at The Conway Peer Support Center, located at 486 White Mountain Highway (across from the Tech College). Free Zumba/Jazzercise Class. Zumba (Gold)/Jazzercise Class meets at the Conway Village Congregational Church, "The Brown Church," every Tuesday evening, from 6 to 7 p.m. It is designed for the more "mature" individual who wants to have fun while becoming more fit. Dance and/or exercise experience is not required. The classes are free to attend. A free-will donation will be accepted.

Songs and Stories For Young Children. The Cook Memorial Library in Tamworth holds "Songs and Stories For Young Children" at 10:30 a.m. on the first three Tuesdays of each month. Tin Mountain Volunteer Coffee Break. Tin Mountain Conservation Center offers a  coffee break at 10 a.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at the Tin Mountain Nature Center on Bald Hill Road in Albany. This is a chance for volunteers to get together and talk, as well as to hear about plans and volunteer opportunties at the center. Upcoming opportunities include volunteering for the Mount Washington Hill Climb and Century Ride, as well as ongoing maintenance and projects around the center.

Breadbasket Food Pantry. The Breadbasket Food Pantry will be open from 4 to 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. The food pantry, sponsored by the River Church at 2600 East Main Street in Center Conway, serves people needing food assistance in the Mount Washington Valley. Primary Care Social Work Services. Primary Care Social Work Services will be available at the Conway Community-Based Outpatient Clinic on the second Tuesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning in April 12. A Primary Care Social Worker can assist Veterans experiencing economic instability, help with supportive services, provide assistance with understanding VA benefits and services they may be eligible for, and referrals to VA and community based programs. Additionally a Primary Care Social Worker can assist with the completion of advanced directives, referrals for Social Security and advice for long term care nursing home placement. Appointments are desired but not required and interested Veterans should speak with their Primary Care Provider.

Affordable Health Care. Ossipee Family Planning provides gynecological and reproductive health care and HIV/STD testing services from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. by appointment. Sliding fee scale and same day appointments available. For more information call 539-7552.

Overeaters Anonymous. Overeaters Anonymous meets every Tuesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Ossipee Valley Church on Route 16. Overeaters Anonymous is a 12-Step program for people who struggle with their relationship with food. For more information, call Carol Ann, 539-4471.
