Leonard Roland Kiesman



3-7-13-leonard-roland-kiesmanLeonard Roland KiesmanLeonard Roland Kiesman, 83, of Fryeburg, Maine, died peacefully Tuesday morning, March 5, 2013 at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway surrounded by his loving family.

Len was a life-long resident of Fryeburg and loved his "hometown." He graduated from Fryeburg Academy in the class of 1948 and married his high school sweetheart, Doris Devine. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage before her death in 1999.

Len work hard and constant to support and care for his family. His earliest career was as a logger working for Cleveland Robbins of West Fryeburg and later worked several years at Birch Craft in Conway. In 1961 he worked for Diamond National in Fryeburg as foreman of the mill. In 1968 he started his own carpentry business passing his skills onto his sons over the years.

Moses Edward Ricker Jr., of Chocorua and formerly of Rowley, Mass., passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Sunbridge in Wolfeboro with family at his side. He was born Feb. 13, 1923 and recently celebrated his celebrated his 90th birthday.

Burdett Lee-Webster 'Burt' Day



3-6-13-burdett-lee-webster-burt-dayBurdett Lee-Webster "Burt" DayMr. Burdett Lee-Webster "Burt" Day, 72, formerly of Swampscott, Mass. and Jackson, died on Monday, March 4, 2013, with his family at his side, after a lengthy illness at the Essex Park Rehab in Beverly, Mass.

Born and raised in Brentwood, he was the son of the late George Albert Day Jr. and Ruth Sophia (Erickson) Day.

A master electrician, he was the owner of Day Electric, serving the North Shore and Boston Areas for over 30 years.

He enjoyed gardening, playing darts, skiing, collecting antiques, walking the beach, and working as an electrician. He was an avid blood donor for the American Red Cross, and a frequent donator of items to the Jackson, NH Historical Society. He also enjoyed working on his properties in downtown Jackson, and building his dream house, which unfortunately he was unable to complete due to his sudden illness.

Burt is survived by a son, Christopher B. Day and his wife, Margaret, of Fitchburg, Mass.; three daughters, Laura Lee Day Robollo and her husband, Carlos, of Florida, Lisa J. Reid, of Salem, Mass., and her former husband, William Reid, of New Hampshire, and Linda J. Cleary, of Boxford, Mass.; seven grandchildren, Heather Reid, Corinne Reid, Daniel Cleary, Rebecca Cleary, Nathan Cleary, Madilyn Day, and Ethan Day; a great-grandson, Mathus Barratt; his brothers and sisters Jean, Joan, Nancy, Albert, and Eric Day, and Janet Ventullo; his former wife, Mary (Pennock) Day, of Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Jeff and Charles Day.

His funeral will be held on Friday, March 8, at 11 a.m. in the Solimine Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home at 67 Ocean Street (Roue 1A) in Lynn, Mass. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hour's Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. Directions and guestbook at www.solimine.com.

Lawrence R. Bryant



Lawrence R. Bryant, 41, of Arundel, Maine, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 27, 2013.

He was born in Norway, Maine Oct. 9, 1971, the son of Richard and Jacqueline Bryant and attended schools in Fryeburg and Standish, Maine graduating from Bonny Eagle High School in 1989. He also attended one year at University of Southern Maine in Gorham. He was a fast learner with the ability to quickly learn new processes and machine operations. He was employed by Fiber Materials Inc. in Biddeford, Maine.

He was predeceased by his father, Richard Bryant, Sr.; grandparents, Robert and Marion Bryant and Chester and Hazel Leonard.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather Jacqueline and John Morgan, of Standish, and Floral City, Fla.; sisters, Teresa Chute, of Conway, and Cheryl and her husband, John Marshall, of Center Conway; and his brother, Richard Jr. and his wife, Kathy Bryant, of Franklin; plus several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours and a graveside service will be announced at a later date in May. Arrangements are made with Wood Funeral Home, Fryeburg, Maine.
