Peter A. Casarotto, 91, of Tamworth passed away Friday, Sept 14, 2012, at his home in Tamworth. He was born in Rockford, Illinois, July 21, 1921, the son of Emil and Teresa Casarotto.
He had served in the U.S. Navy from 1940 to 1960. He fought in World War II and Korea and retired as Chief Boatswain Mate. Peter enjoyed traveling all over the world during his Navy career. He then worked at the Rockford Illinois Water Department for seventeen years. He and his wife, Joan, retired to Tamworth in 1980. He has always enjoyed golf and has won several trophies for his great golf game.
Peter leaves behind his devoted wife of 63 years, Joan A. (Remick) Casarotto; five children, Patricia A. Gnadt and her husband, David, of Mundelein, Ill., Peter A Casarotto, Jr. and his wife, Kay, of Chandler, Ariz., Susan J. Cavell and her husband, Scott, of Harbor Springs, Mich., Paul R. Casarotto and his wife, Patricia, of Caledonia, Ill., and David J. Casarotto and partner, Jackie Berry, of Chandler; several grand and great grandchildren; two sisters, Stella Vinci, of Rockford, Ill., and Margaret Soule, of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; two brothers, Frank Casarotto, of Loves Park, Ill., snd John Casarotto, of Rockford. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Louis, Arthur, Bruno and Dominic Casarotto.
Private memorial services will be held by the family at a later date.
