William Rafael Scaletti

William Rafael Scaletti passed away peacefully, with his wife Opal at his side, at the age of 79 on Sunday August 26, 2012 in Kennesaw, Ga.
Bill was born December 2, 1932 in North Conway, son of the late William and Herminia Scaletti.
He was a graduate of St. Anslem University, in Goffstown.
He served his country as a young man with the United States Army in the Korean War.
He began his 37-year career in law enforcement as a deputy sheriff for the Carroll County Sheriff's Department, and then worked his way up the ranks in the Conway Police Department until he retired in April of 1993 as the chief of police. Bill also served as the president of the Carroll County Fish and Game Club, and was active in the New Hampshire Police Chief's Association, the Masons; he was a ski instructor at Cranmore Mountain, and volunteered with the Special Olympics as well as other children's charities and organizations. He loved to fish, hunt, golf, carve wood and was an avid lobsterman.
He was a well respected man in the community who loved God, his family, friends and his country.
He is pre-deceased by his parents William and Herminia Scaletti and, his son Brian.
Survivors include his wife Opal V. (Burke) Scaletti; three daughters, Christine Murray and her husband Richard of Center Conway, Dorothy Scaletti of Acworth, Ga., Margaret Harring and her husband Peter of Acworth, Ga.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. As well as his brother Dino Scaletti of Maryland and his sister Anita Patsos of Manchester, and their families.
The will be a private Christian celebration of Bill's life on Friday, Aug. 31, in Acworth, Ga.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
