John A. Collins Jr.



John A. Collins Jr., of Fairview Street, Fryeburg, Maine died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at Fryeburg Health Care Center.

He was born in Carteret, N.J. on Dec. 13, 1929, a son of John A Collins Sr. and Mary Novakowski Collins. He graduated from Carteret High School. John served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was part of a medical unit. He was employed by the Roway Prison in New Jersey as a correction officer for 25 years.

He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Nepshinsky and her husband, John, of Brownfield, Maine; two nieces, Dale Schifano, of New Jersey and Laura Mullin, of Alaska; and one nephew, John Nepshinsky, of Florida.

The family would like to thank the Androscoggin Hospice and Fryeburg Health Care for all the good care John received. Arrangements are made with Wood Funeral Home, Fryeburg. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.woodfuneralhome.org.
