Russell 'Stanley' Welch

Russell "Stanley" WelchRussell "Stanley" Welch, 65, of Conway, and a longtime Amesbury, Mass. resident, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine after a brief illness.He was born in Amesbury, Mass. on Feb. 25, 1947 a son of the late Russell F. and Lillian D. (Perkins) Welch. He grew up in Amesbury and graduated from Amesbury High School and went on to work for the former Bailey Company for 38 years.
Russell was a member of the West Newbury Handtub Association and more recently he belonged to the Polish Club in Amesbury and the Mountain –Meadow Riders Snowmobile Club, of North Conway.
Russell leaves his best friends, Edward and Greta Paulhus, of North Conway, with whom he made his home for more than a decade; three brothers Ronald Welch, of Seabrook, John Welch and his wife Nancy, of Newton, and Roger Welch and his wife Linda, of Amesbury, as well as five nieces, Susan, Carol, Kellie and Amanda Welch and Catherine Swain and her husband, John; a nephew, John Welch Jr. and his wife, Sarah; six great nieces and three great nephews; his cousins, Barbara Perusse and her children, Edward and Denise. He was also the brother of the late Fred Welch, who passed away in 1988 and David Welch who passed away in 2012.
At Russell's request services will be private.
Arrangements are under the care of Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services at 981 Forest Avenue in Portland.
