Close Knit Sisters participating in Maine Mitten Project

CONWAY — Close Knit Sisters is now a drop-off center for The Maine Mitten Project. This project collects and distributes mittens, hats and scarves for Maine's homeless teens, families and adults. Now with a New Hampshire collection center, the project will be expanding into this state as well.
The Maine Mitten Project was begun by The Fiber Center at Fryeburg Fair, and all donations will be collected throughout the year and exhibited at the Fiber Center during fair week in 2013.
Close Knit Sisters has received donated yarn and needles over the past two years and is making it available to anyone who wants to knit or crochet a mitten, hat or scarf for this cause.
Stop by the shop to inquire about this project or visit www.mainemittenproject.blogspot.com. A variety of patterns are available at the shop or on the project's website.
Close Knit Sisters is located in the Red Barn Outlet, Route 16, North Conway. Phone number is 356-3777.
