Arts in Motion invites youth 6 to 17 to participate in 'Shake, Rattle and Roll'
Published Date
To celebrate 20 years of quality music and theater productions in the Mount Washington Valley, Arts in Motion Theater Company is pleased to present an original show, "Shake, Rattle and Roll, A Celebration of Youth."
"Over the past two decades Arts in Motion Theater Company has positively influenced the lives of countless children and adults — whether on stage, backstage or in the audience," Paula Jones, president of the board of directors said. "As we celebrate our anniversary, we continue our commitment to providing quality programming as well as increased educational opportunities in the creative arts."
Local youth ages 6 to 17 are invited to take part in this high-energy production featuring choreographed musical numbers and a script written by the participants. The cast is anticipated to be between 60 and 80 kids of all ages. Non-actors are also invited to be a part of the celebration through set and prop design, construction and other backstage activities. Interested youth must be accompanied by a parent when attending one of the two information/registration meetings scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11 and Thursday, Sept. 13, at Pine Tree Elementary School in Center Conway. Registration packets will be available Sept. 1 for download from www.artsinmotiontheater.com.
"Shake, Rattle and Roll" will be performed Nov. 15, 16, and 17 at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center in Fryeburg. Rehearsals will be held Sundays from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 pm to 7:30 p.m. at Pine Tree Elementary School. The cast and crew will be led by some of Arts in Motion's all stars, including Glenn Noble as director, Jim Sitomer as musical director, and Aimee Frechette as choreographer. Also on board in leadership roles will be some of the theater company's most experienced young actors and musicians including Chris Madura, Hannah Johnson, Philip Mathieu, Kelsey Liljedahl, Kodi Barrows, Rachel Sitomer, and Claire Martindale.
