Believe in Books Literacy Foundation's children's summer theater series begins July 6

(COURTESY PHOTOINTERVALE — The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation will begin its third season of the children's summer theater series presented by the Papermill Theater Company. The season begins with the "The Little Mermaid" on Friday, July 6, at 10 a.m. at the Theater in the Wood at The 100 Acre Wood property is located at Observatory Way in Intervale.The eight week series continues each Friday at 10 a.m. through Aug. 24. The series is presented in memory of Jerry Downs, a longtime supporter of local theater.
Each performance is approximately 30-minutes long and features five professional adult actors from the North Country Center for the Arts (NCCA) Children's Theatre Company in original musical adaptations of popular fairy and folk tales. The shows appeal to adults and children ages three and up. After each show, the actors (in costume) meet and greet audience members.
2012 Children's Summer Theater schedule is "Little Mermaid" on July 6, "Aladdin" on July 13, "The Golden Bird" on July 20, "Thumbelina" on July 27, "Elves and the Shoemaker" on Aug. 3, "Sleeping Beauty" on Aug. 10, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" on Aug. 17 and "Rumpelstiltskin" on Aug. 24.
