White Birch Books to host author Walt Hampton May 17

CONWAY — White Birch Books is hosting a presentation by Walt Hampton, speaker, author and strategic coach, on Thursday, May 17, at 6:30 p.m. Hampton has written "Journeys on the Edge: Living a Life that Matters," and he will be discussing the book along with an illuminating slide show.

At the age of 13, Hampton made a promise to himself — he would be an audacious explorer and experience and enjoy the wild places on earth. He appears to be making good on that promise. He's climbed four of the Seven Summits and the other three are in his scope. Walt is a rock climber, ice climber and ski mountaineer. He is an avid distance runner, a pilot and scuba-diver, too. Walt also has a passion for photography that grew out of his love of the mountains. Currently the Director of Summit Success and Founder of the Positive Leadership Academy, Hampton is a dynamic motivational speaker, driven entrepreneur, sought after leadership trainer and skilled executive coach.

In "Journeys on the Edge," Hampton lays out the ways we can live the lives we once imagined for ourselves, teaching readers to live with purpose, passion and possibility. Hampton believes that we can have it all, and that what his book is all about.

An in-demand and engaging speaker, Hampton will discuss his book and present an accompanying slide show.

White Birch Books, celebrating 20 years this year, is located in North Conway Village just south of the park, across from TD Banknorth. For more information about the event, or to reserve a copy of Journeys on the Edge, call White Birch Books at 356-3200.
