Community School to host 11th annual auction

TAMWORTH — The Community School of South Tamworth will host its 11th annual Celebrate Community scholarship fundraising auction on Saturday, April 29, from 4-6:30 p.m. There is no admission fee for the event, which includes hors d'oeuvres and libations and scads of tremendous items to be swept away by the highest bidder.

Items will include handmade ceramics; a handcrafted fringed leather purse; an antique iron John Deere push toy; locally-crafted hard cider and wines; funky Birkenstock boots; a basket for your favorite pooch, stuffed full of treats; gift certificates to all manner of local restaurants, businesses and attractions; fresh roasted coffees; hand knit and felted hats; hand knit sweaters and vests; a basket of baby books, diapers and wipes, a handmade quilt, antique dolls and plush bear; antique books; a travel package for one week's lodging in one of hundreds of international locations; a gorgeous antique side board, lovingly refreshed and renovated; a custom-made (in Conway) butcher block island; a custom-made (in Maine) day bed; a slate-topped table; antique chairs; a made-to-order Tappan chair; hand-crafted sterling jewelry and a local meats package.
